This midsized truck can tow up to 1,000 pounds more than its Toyota rival, the Tacoma, and has a lower base MSRP as well. As for the Ranger versus the Chevrolet Colorado, the Ford product retains considerably more value and runs more efficiently – losing just 28% of its worth over 5 years compared to 48% for the Colorado. Model year 2026 brings a handful of minor changes, including new black-painted steel wheels for the base XL, and ActiveX upholstery for the upscale Lariat. Ford’s 400-watt Pro Power Onboard system (previously offered only on the Ranger Plug-In Hybrid, which is not sold in North America) is now standard on the Raptor and available for the other trims. It allows drivers to use the truck as a mobile power source for external devices and gear. The XLT and Lariat are now eligible for a power moonroof and a new paint color called Avalanche.
