Transit Cargo and Passenger Van
The 2025 Transit is a versatile full-sized van that Ford offers in Cargo and Passenger versions to suit commercial or personal needs. Offered with a choice of roof heights, body lengths, and wheelbases, the Transit can be tailored for hauling goods, transporting passengers, or serving as a work vehicle with specialized upfitting. Further customization for this model includes options for a turbocharged V6 engine and all-wheel drive. In their largest forms, the Cargo Van offers almost 500 cubic feet of capacity while the Passenger Van can transport 15 people. The 2025 Ford Transit is all about adaptability for getting the job done or moving passengers where they need to be.

Ford offers the Transit Cargo Van in a single trim, while the Transit Passenger Van is available in either an XL or XLT version. The standard engine in all Transit Vans is a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 that produces 275 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. There’s also an option for a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that makes 310 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive optional. Both drivetrains are paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.
The 2025 Ford Transit lineup offers low, medium, and high roof heights across all versions. The Cargo Van is available in regular, long, or extended-length (long-EL) configurations, with a 130-inch wheelbase on the regular version and a 148-inch wheelbase on the long and long-EL. The Passenger Van comes in long and long-EL, with a 148-inch wheelbase. The Cargo Van is offered in T-150, T-250, T-350, and T-350HD series, while the Passenger Van is available as either the T-350 or T-350HD. A higher series number generally corresponds to greater cargo or passenger capacity. The T-350HD can be equipped with dual rear wheels for added capability.
Depending on series, body length, wheelbase, and engine, the Transit Cargo Van has a hauling capacity of 3,148 to 4,887 pounds. These factors also influence towing capacity, which ranges from 5,100 to 6,800 pounds for the Cargo Van and 4,200 to 6,200 pounds for the Passenger Van with the proper equipment (e.g., trailer brakes). The Cargo Van’s volume behind the two-seat front row spans from 246.7 to 487.3 cubic feet. The long Passenger Van seats up to 12 occupants in four rows, while the long-EL adds a fifth row to accommodate 15 passengers.
