2025 Ford F-150
2025 Ford
F-150
The Ford F-150 remains America’s favorite pickup truck for its power, capabilities, reliability, and wide range of configurations. New for 2025 is the Lobo Package, an appearance and suspension upgrade designed specifically for street performance that’s offered exclusively on the STX SuperCrew with the Coyote 5.0-liter V8. The Lobo package gives the truck a more aggressive stance with lowered rear shocks, a two-speed automatic four-wheel-drive system, large black-finished wheels, unique exterior treatments, and a sportier exhaust. Ford also continues to refine technology and driver-assist options across the lineup, with updated BlueCruise technology.
This overview details the 2025 F-150; the all-electric F-150 Lightning is highlighted separately. And, although we cover the Raptor and Raptor R on this page, they are also given a more detailed separate page because they’re built for a different kind of buyer. With features like Fox racing shocks, available 37-inch off-road tires, and, in the Raptor R, a 720-horsepower supercharged V8, they go way beyond what most people feel they need from a regular F-150.
Trims, Configurations, and Powerplants
For 2025, the Ford F-150 is offered in eight editions: the XL, STX, XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor (please see our separate Raptor overview for full details). The lineup includes three cab configurations. The two-door regular cab remains available exclusively on the XL, while the SuperCab – with two standard front doors and two smaller rear-hinged doors – is offered on the XL, STX, and XLT. The more spacious SuperCrew, with four full-sized doors, is available across all trims. F-150 buyers can select from three bed lengths: 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet, or 8.0 feet, depending on the cab configuration and trim.
The standard powerplant for the XL, STX, and XLT is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 producing 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Those who prefer more displacement can opt for the 5.0-liter V8, which puts out 400 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. This powerplant is included with the Tremor and Lariat and optional on the XL, STX, and XLT. A more powerful option – the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 – makes 400 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque and comes standard on the King Ranch and Platinum. This engine is available on the XL, Tremor, and Lariat. This same engine in hybrid form is offered on the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum, delivering a combined 430 horsepower and 570 lb.-ft. of torque. Only the Raptor qualifies for the high-output 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost (output: 450 hp and 510 lb.-ft. of torque); the Raptor R Package takes things even higher with its main component, a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that raises output to 720 hp and 640 lb.-ft. of torque.
The XL, STX, and XLT have rear-wheel drive and can be outfitted with four-wheel drive, which is standard on the higher trims. Both drivetrains are managed by a ten-speed automatic transmission. The 2025 F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 16,500 pounds and a maximum payload rating of 2,440 pounds, which can vary by trim and configuration. Six-cylinder versions of the F-150 deliver between 16 and 22 mpg in city driving and between 21 and 25 mpg on the highway. The 5.0-liter V8 is rated at 15–16 mpg in the city and 20–24 mpg on the highway. The Raptor returns an EPA-estimated 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway.
Standard Features Highlights
Work-ready, the XL focuses on utility with a three-person 40/20/40-split folding front bench seat, fabric upholstery, LED headlights, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a vinyl floor covering, a Class IV trailer hitch, heated power side mirrors, a manual tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and 17-inch steel wheels. Building on this foundation, the STX adds sport cloth upholstery, front bucket seats with a center console, carpeting, LED fog lights with cornering lamps, body-color bumper accents, rear privacy glass, a rear-window defroster, and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels.
The XLT enhances comfort and convenience with dual-zone automatic climate control, chrome-finished running boards, a 40/20/40-split folding front seat with driver’s position memory, Pro Trailer backup and hitch assist, rear under-seat storage, a wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 18-inch chrome-look wheels. The Tremor offers serious off-road capability. It features a locking rear differential, off-road-tuned suspension, multi-terrain drive modes, skid plates, front tow hooks, Pro Power Onboard (2 kW), and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires. This trim also has heated front bucket seats and a center console, power-sliding rear window, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, power-adjustable pedals, remote start, remote tailgate release, a trim-specific grille, and running boards.
Upscale touches define the Lariat, including ActiveX leatherette-trimmed seating surfaces, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated wrapped steering wheel, a ten-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a driver’s memory system, adaptive LED projector headlights, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and power-folding heated mirrors. Other Lariat amenities include rain-sensing windshield wipers, ambient interior lighting, an onboard 400-watt outlet, chrome-finished running boards, wireless device charging, and 18-inch chrome-look wheels.
More luxury is the name of the game with the King Ranch. This version of the F-150 has a twin-panel moonroof, King Ranch-branded leather, heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats with massage functionality, heated second-row seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a head-up display, partitioned lockable fold-flat rear storage, an integrated trailer brake controller, Pro Power Onboard (2?kW), King Ranch-specific exterior accents, and 20-inch wheels. The ultimate F-150, the Platinum, embraces much of the King Ranch’s equipment roster but replaces Western-themed details with straightforward luxury touches.
The Raptor is the ultimate F-150, getting 35-inch all-terrain tires on 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels, heavy-duty skid plates, Ford Trail Control, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, Trail Turn Assist, and Fox Racing Shox (front and rear) with live-valve technology. Beyond that, it’s set up with many of the same features listed for the Lariat, plus a locking rear differential, a head-up display, and six upfitter switches in the overhead console. If you want it all, you can add the Raptor R Package to get Ford’s supercharged V8 along with a lowered ride height, 37-inch tires, dual-live valve Fox Racing Shox, a modular front bumper, and – for cosmetic interest – orange stitching in the cabin.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
The 2025 F-150 is equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 as a standard feature. This suite of the latest driver-aid technology includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assistance, reverse brake assist, a driver alertness monitor, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. A surround-view camera system is standard on the Lariat and above. BlueCruise hands-free highway driving with a trial subscription is included with the Tremor and higher trims. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on the higher grades.
Infotainment and Connectivity
All 2025 F-150 trims have Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment platform, which is operated via a 12-inch touchscreen. Its standard features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, voice recognition, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Connected Navigation is optional on the XLT and included in the higher trims. Wi-Fi hotspot capability and FordPass Connect are standard across the range. The XL, STX, and XLT have a six-speaker audio system (or four speakers on regular cab versions), while the Lariat and above include an eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen system. The King Ranch and Raptor enhance this further with a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup.
