Trims and Powertrains

The 2025 Ford Escape Hybrid has four trim levels: ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, and ST-Line Elite. They all get the same powertrain, which is made up of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an Atkinson motor with hybrid technology (total output: 192 horsepower). Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard with the ST-Line and Platinum, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional on the Platinum and included with the ST-Line Select and ST-Line Elite. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) manages both drivetrains.

Cargo capacity ranges from 34.4 cubic feet behind the second row to 60.8 cubic feet behind the front seats. Fuel economy is the same for both powertrains: 42 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. When it’s set up with the proper equipment, the Escape Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds.

Standard Features

The 2025 Escape Hybrid’s lineup begins with the ST-Line, which gets dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, an eight-way power driver’s seat, automatic LED headlights, seats upholstered in a combination of vinyl and fabric, push-button ignition, a sliding 60/40 split-folding second row, an 8-inch driver information display, a tilt-and-telescopic steering adjustment, rear privacy glass, a premium-wrapped steering wheel, dual USB ports in each row, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. All three trims with ST-Line in the name incorporate athletic design elements, including a black mesh grille, an enhanced rear spoiler, rooftop side rails, rear underbody protection, and trim-specific 18-inch aluminum wheels. The mid-range ST-Line Select upgrades the cabin with fabric and leatherette upholstery while adding conveniences like a heated flat-bottomed steering wheel, a power liftgate, heated side mirrors, LED fog lamps, and remote start capability.

The Platinum brings a more refined appearance with chrome exterior accents. It also adds upscale features like ActiveX upholstery, heated sport contour front seats (ten-way power for the driver, six-way for the passenger), and a driver’s-side memory system. Its optional upgrades include a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, an LED light bar integrated into the grille design, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless device charging, and 19-inch wheels. The range-topping ST-Line Elite combines the Platinum’s premium features with the ST-Line Select’s performance-inspired design elements.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Ford equips every 2025 Escape Hybrid with the Co-Pilot360 safety technology suite. These technologies include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, dynamic brake support, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping alert, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and a driver monitor system. The Platinum and ST-Line Elite trims enhance safety technology with adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and rear parking sensors. A surround-view monitor is optional on the ST-Line Select, Platinum, and ST-Line Elite. The Platinum and ST-Line Elite also come with Active Park Assist, Ford’s semi-automatic parking system.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The SYNC4 platform by Ford anchors the Escape Hybrid’s infotainment platform, which is managed via an 8-inch touchscreen in the lower trims. The system delivers wireless smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, and SiriusXM radio. Moving up to the Platinum or ST-Line Elite brings a 13.2-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation, which is optional on the ST-Line and ST-Line Select. All trims have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and FordPass Connect services. For audio, the default is a standard six-speaker arrangement, but a ten-speaker Bang & Olufsen system is available on all trims except for the base ST-Line.
