There’s a 2024 Mustang Mach-E for everyone, starting with Select trim, while the Premium is a mid-tier grade with abundant standard features. Performance enthusiasts will tilt toward the GT or Rally.
The Select and Premium’s standard drivetrain is single-motor, rear-wheel drive (RWD). Dual-motor (one per axle) all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional on the Select and Premium and standard on the GT and Rally. A standard-range 72 kWh battery is part of the base configuration for the Select and Premium. The extended-range 91 kWh unit is optional with an AWD-equipped Premium (RWD or AWD). The extended-range battery comes standard with the GT and Rally.
The powertrain output varies by trim and configuration. A Select or Premium with RWD and the standard-range battery produces 264 horsepower and 387 lb.-ft. of torque. With AWD, the output increases to 325 combined horsepower (365 horsepower with the larger battery) and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. A Premium with RWD and a 91-kWh battery makes 290 horsepower and 387 lb.-ft. of torque. The GT makes 480 combined horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque. Mach-E GTs with the Performance Upgrade and the Rally dial up their torque to 700 lb.-ft.
The projected top range for the Select and Premium is 320 miles, which changes to 280 miles for the GT and 250 miles for the GT with the Performance Upgrade and the Rally. The actual range achieved may differ, depending on the vehicle’s installed equipment, outdoor temperature, and overall driving conditions.
The Ford Mach-E can be recharged using two different Level 2 (240-volt) charging options. The Ford Connect Charge Station, an available option, can recharge a standard-range Mach-E battery from depletion to 100% in about 7.1 hours, providing an average of 35 miles of range per charging hour. Alternatively, the standard Ford Mobile Charger, which comes included with every Mach-E, takes around 11.9 hours to recharge the battery from empty to full, adding about 21 miles of range for each hour of charging (you’ll need to add about 2-3 hours to restore the extended-range battery).
Via Level 3/DC fasting charging, an extended-range battery can charge from 10-80% in approximately 36 minutes, almost 10 minutes quicker than before. Standard-range Mach-Es require roughly 32 minutes to charge from 10-80%, 5 minutes faster than last year’s model. As we stated in the introduction, the Mustang Mach-E can now be charged at Tesla Supercharger stations, greatly expanding the charging network for their drivers.
The Mach-E Select edition gives its occupants ActiveX upholstery, proximity keyless entry, LED exterior lighting with projector-style headlamps and sequential taillamps, wireless device charging, four USB ports (two per row), and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. This trim also gets a keyless entry keypad, a windshield wiper de-icer, push-button start, a drive mode selector (settings: Unbridle, Engage, and Whisper), heated power side mirrors with pony-logo projector lamps, a phone-as-key feature, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wrapped steering wheel, and 19-inch aluminum wheels. The Premium gets numerous comfort and convenience features like a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel and front-row seats, a driver’s position memory system, a ten-way power driver’s seat, an eight-way power front passenger seat, power-folding side mirrors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Living up to its Mustang heritage, the Mach-E GT features a MagneRide damping system, Brembo front brakes, performance front seats, a unique GT front fascia, and 20-inch wheels. The torque-boosting Performance Upgrade is optional (and can be added after purchase). The Rally trim makes the Mustang Mach-E suitable for the pavement or dirt roads thanks to a rallycross-tuned MagneRide damping system, a RallySport drive mode, an aluminum underbody protective shield, and the Mach-E GT Performance Upgrade. Its other standard equipment includes a unique grille shield with integrated LED fog lamps, exclusive exterior treatments including a raised rear spoiler, a black-painted roof, Rally-themed hood and decklid stripes and graphics, a front recovery hook, sport pedals, and 19-inch Oxford White wheels with Michelin performance tires.
All 2024 Mustang Mach-E grades have Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping alert, lane-keeping assist, rear parking sensors, reverse brake assist, and automatic high beams. All trims come with access to BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free highway driving system. A surround-view monitor is standard in all but the Select. A full set of airbags comes standard, as do anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a rearview monitor.
Every Mustang Mach-E has Ford’s advanced SYNC 4A infotainment system, highlighted by a tablet-style 15.5-inch touchscreen. This system features voice recognition, connected navigation, wireless integration for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to Ford’s connected services. The Select trim level has a six-speaker audio system, while the Premium, GT, and Rally trims are outfitted with a ten-speaker Bang & Olufsen unit.
