Ford offers the all-new F-150 in eight trim packages: XL, STX, XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor. There are also three cab configurations – regular, extended Super Cab, and SuperCrew – and three bed lengths (5.5 feet, 6.5 feet, and 8 feet), with availability depending on trim level and cab style.
The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that puts out 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Ford also continues to offer the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 (400 hp and 500 lb.-ft. of torque), the 3.5-liter PowerBoost hybrid V6 (430 hp and 570 lb.-ft. of torque), and the 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 (400 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque). The Raptor and Raptor R variants offer even greater potency: a high-output 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 (450 hp and 510 lb.-ft. of torque) and a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 (700 hp and 640 lb.-ft. of torque).
Every 2024 F-150 has a 10-speed automatic transmission. The XL, STX, and XLT trims come with standard rear-wheel drive but can be upgraded to four-wheel drive, which is standard in the others. This truck is where you’ll find the segment’s highest towing and payload capacities, with best-in-class figures of up to 13,500 pounds for towing and 2,445 lb. for payload.
The XL has what you need plus a bit more, with LED headlights, a Class IV trailer hitch, heated side-view mirrors, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, and 17-inch steel wheels. The STX adds trim-specific sport-cloth upholstery, LED fog lights and cornering lights, and 20-inch wheels. The XLT loses the sport-cloth upholstery and 20-inch wheels but gets chrome running boards, a keyless entry keypad, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear under-seat storage, and 18-inch wheels.
The Tremor is essentially a more capable version of the XLT, boasting standard 4WD, front tow hooks, skid plates, a drive mode selector, and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. It also has remote start, proximity keyless entry, a power-sliding rear window, LED spotlights integrated in the side-view mirrors, power-adjustable pedals, black sport-cloth upholstery, heated front seats, push-button start, and Tremor-specific running boards.
The Lariat raises the luxury factor with leather upholstery, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a heated leather-wrapped power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, remote tailgate release, power-folding heated side mirrors with built-in turn-signal indicators, power-adjustable pedals, position memory (for the side mirrors, steering wheel, and pedals), heated and ventilated front seats, a universal garage door opener, and ambient interior lighting. The western-inspired King Ranch takes it even further with power-deployable running boards, a twin-panel moonroof, a continuously controlled damping suspension, adaptive LED headlights, unique bucket seats with King Ranch badging, a front-console work surface, a lockable fold-flat storage compartment, heated second-row seats, and a head-up display. The Platinum offers similar features to the King Ranch (minus the head-up display and twin-panel moonroof), but with its own distinctive styling.
If you’re looking for the pinnacle of off-road potential, the Raptor is the answer with its specialized attributes, including sport-tuned front and rear shock absorbers, Trail Control (Ford’s off-road adaptive cruise control system), and rear tow hooks. This most formidable version of the F-150 also shares many luxuries with the King Ranch, in addition to the durable skid plates and all-terrain tires seen on the Tremor. The optional Raptor R equipment group will supply even more features, such as a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, dual-valve shocks, unique design elements, and leather Recaro sport seats with black Alcantara suede inserts.
The 2024 F-150 comes with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of active driving aids, enhancing safety and convenience with pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, dynamic brake support, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, reverse automatic braking, and post-collision braking. The XLT and higher add a surround-view camera, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, while the Tremor and higher trims are enhanced with adaptive cruise control. As mentioned, Blue Cruise – Ford’s proprietary hands-free driving technology – is offered for the first time on the F-150 this model year.
All versions of the 2024 F-150 have the Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system, featuring a 12-inch touchscreen. Its main features are onboard navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, conversational voice recognition, SiriusXM satellite radio, a 5G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The XL, STX, and XLT come with a four-speaker sound system in the regular cab and a six-speaker sound system in the SuperCrew. The higher trims introduce HD Radio and a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system with eight speakers in the Tremor, Lariat, and Platinum and 14 speakers in the King Ranch and Raptor.
The 2024 F-150 offers a range of optional upgrades to raise functionality and convenience. Many features available in the higher trims can also be added to the lower trims, alongside other notable improvements. One such upgrade, the Pro Power Onboard generator (either 2.4-kW or 7.2-kW), is strictly for F-150s with the hybrid powertrain. This feature allows users to plug in a variety of external electronics and appliances using the vehicle’s stored power. The Mobile Office Package includes a fold-down center console work surface and a wireless phone charger, making it ideal for on-the-go productivity.
For adventure seekers, the FX4 Off-Road Package is a must-have, boasting an electronic locking rear axle, hill descent control, front off-road shock absorbers, monotube rear shocks, a special rock crawl mode, all-terrain tires, and skid plates. The Tow/Haul Package contains a trailer brake controller and onboard scales to measure the weight of the F-150’s payload. Finally, the Bed Utility Package provides a tailgate assist step, a tailgate work surface, four tie-down plates, and LED box lighting. In the Tremor and above trims, it also comes with a power tailgate.
