Five trims are on the docket for the 2024 Edge: SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST. Most receive a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 250 hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. As mentioned, the performance-oriented ST packs more of a punch with its turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 (335 hp and 380 lb.-ft. of torque), which is paired to a seven-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is standard across the board.
The EPA’s official fuel economy ratings state that the Edge trims with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost achieve an estimated 21 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway. The ST, with its 2.7-liter V6, will give you 19 city/25 highway.
The Edge SE has a good array of desirable features, like automatic headlights, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, a pair of USB ports (Type-A and Type-C), a 60/40-split second-row seat with a folding center armrest, and a cargo organization system. The SEL steps things up with heated side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped steering wheel,
ActiveX synthetic-leather upholstery, and heated power-adjustable front seats. The ST-Line adds remote start, a wireless phone charge pad, a power liftgate, LED fog lights, a universal garage door opener, a 110V power outlet, ActiveX seats with special Miko inserts, and red interior contrast stitching.
The Titanium omits the red stitching and Miko seat inserts but gains outside mirrors with position memory, a hands-free liftgate, ambient interior lighting, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a driver’s seat with position memory. At the top of the lineup, the ST lacks some of the Titanium’s luxuries, as it prioritizes performance with the more potent V6 engine. It also gets a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery with Miko inserts, sport-bolstered captain’s chairs, and silver interior contrast stitching.
The Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of active driving aids comes standard in the 2024 Edge, providing automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, and hill start assist. The SEL and ST-Line receive rear parking sensors, while the Titanium and ST pad their features list with rain-sensing wipers. Several safety upgrades are available through the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ Package, which you can learn more about in the last section.
All trims have Ford’s advanced SYNC 4A infotainment system, which includes a 12-inch touchscreen with voice recognition, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. While most trims get a basic six-speaker audio system, the Titanium and ST are granted a high-end 12-speaker B&O unit for a superior listening experience.
Ford offers some excellent upgrade packages for the Edge. The Convenience Package for the SEL bundles a 110V power outlet, a power liftgate, remote start, a universal garage door opener, a wireless phone charger, fog lights, and a perimeter alarm system. The Titanium Elite Package (for the Titanium only) includes unique styling elements, active parking assist, and front and side parking sensors.
