Underneath the hood of the four-door Bronco Raptor is a fierce turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 418 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission and an on-demand four-wheel drivetrain complete the major mechanical picture. This powertrain gives the Raptor a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds – that’s 1,000 pounds beyond what the other Bronco models can pull. Other high-function features include a HOSS 4.0 suspension with adaptive Fox dampers, a terrain management system with seven G.O.A.T. modes (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain), Trail One-Pedal Drive (which lets you accelerate and brake using only the gas pedal), Trail Control (Ford’s convenient off-road cruise control system), and electronically locking front and rear axles.
Ford sets up the Bronco Raptor with a medley of must-have amenities. On the outside, it receives LED headlights and fog lights, heated side mirrors, an assortment of heavy-duty bash plates, 17-inch wheels wrapped in chunky all-terrain tires, two front and rear tow hooks, and proximity keyless entry. The doors and roof are removable, too, for the added fun of open-air driving. Inside the Bronco Raptor you’ll find durable marine-grade vinyl upholstery and rubberized flooring with drain plugs for easy cleanup. It also has heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button ignition, and a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel with paddle shifters.
On the infotainment front, the Bronco Raptor gets Ford’s SYNC 4 system with a 12-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a seven-speaker audio system. There are also two 12V power outlets, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, four smart-charging USB ports, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The Bronco Raptor supplies an extra level of passenger safety with the Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technology bundle. The components are forward collision warning, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, front and rear parking sensors, and driver attention alert. A surround-view is also standard to give the driver a greater awareness of nearby obstacles.
Ford offers some great options for the 2023 Bronco Raptor. The Lux Package will add a heated steering wheel, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, a universal garage door opener, a wireless phone charger, additional USB charging ports (one Type-A and the other Type-C), adaptive cruise control, and evasive steering assist. Leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats can be added a la carte.
