2022 Ford Ranger for Sale in Hyannis, MA

Overview
For some pickup truck fans, a full-sized version is overdoing it, while a midsized model meets their needs to a T. That’s where the 2022 Ford Ranger – the little brother to the vastly popular F-150 – comes in. With its high-strength steel frame, class-exclusive turbocharged gasoline engine, and veritable all-terrain chops, the Ranger works like a charm for people in the work hard/play hard realm. One change of note for model year 2022 is that Ford has added the Splash Package, a nostalgic nod to the truck’s 1990s roots.
Trims and Powertrain
The ’22 Ranger comes in three trim levels (XL, XLT, and Lariat) and two body styles (extended SuperCrew with a 6-foot bed and regular crew with a 5-ft. bed). Each trim gets a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that puts out 270 horses and class-leading gasoline-engine torque of 310 lb.-ft. This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission that directs power to a standard rear-wheel drivetrain. Of course, four-wheel drive is available as well.
Fuel Economy and Towing
With RWD, the ’22 Ranger achieves an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, and with 4WD, it gets 20 city/24 highway. The Tremor Off-Road Package will add some attractive brawn while causing the fuel economy to dip to 19 city/19 highway. If you’ll be towing, you can add the Trailer Tow Package, which allows the Ranger to pull up to 7,500 pounds.
Standard Equipment
The base XL’s main amenities are automatic headlights, four cargo box tie-downs, three 12-volt power outlets, a smart-charging USB port, an infotainment system with a 3.5-inch screen, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a four-speaker sound system. The XLT adds fog lights, keyless entry, a power locking tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an enhanced SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The top-end Lariat supplies LED exterior lights, rear parking sensors, fob-less entry (Intelligent Access), push-button start, a 110-volt power outlet, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, leather seats, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and heated rear outboard seats.
Advanced Safety Aids
The Ranger is equipped with some standard active safety features, with more available on an optional basis. The XL gets forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, while the XLT and Lariat both receive the Ford Co-Pilot360 bundle, which is available on the XL. Ford Co-Pilot360 contains blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and lane keeping assist. The XLT and Lariat can be ordered with adaptive cruise control.
Packages and Optional Features
There’s no shortage of options with the Ranger, with packages such as the FX4 Off-Road, Trailer Tow, Tremor Off-Road, and all-new Splash. The FX4 Off-Road Package should please true trailblazers with its beefy all-terrain tires, protective skid plates, traction-enhancing electronic locking rear differential, monotube shocks, front tow hooks, off-road suspension, low-speed crawl control system (Trail Control), and terrain management system with selectable drive modes. The Trailer Tow Package properly equips the Ranger with a trailer hitch and either a four- or seven-pin wiring harness, enabling it to pull up to 7,500 lb.
The beastly Tremor Off-Road Package supplies a modified off-road suspension, front and rear tow hooks, running boards, a unique front grille with red nostrils, and the Trail Control and terrain management systems. For added fun, the ‘90s-throwback Splash Package puts on an attention-getting orange paint job, black body-side graphics, matte-black wheels, gloss black trim, and a grille with orange nostrils.
The Ranger’s standalone add-ons consist of dual-zone automatic climate control and a 110-volt power outlet for the XL, front and rear parking sensors for the XLT, and a high-quality 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen (B&O) sound system, rain-sensing wipers, and a universal garage door opener for the Lariat. The XLT and Lariat are eligible for a voice-activated navigation system.
